Check a seller before you pay

Enter the seller's phone or MoMo number, or their Instagram or TikTok @handle. We show scam reports from other buyers that our moderators have checked.

Before you pay any online seller

• Ask for payment on delivery, or pay in person at the shop.
• Check that the MoMo account name matches the shop or person.
• Ask for a live video of the item with today's date said out loud.
• Look for the shop on Google Maps with photos and reviews.
• Be careful with new accounts, comments turned off, or prices far below other sellers.
• Never share your MoMo PIN or approval code with anyone.

Lost money to a seller? Report the scam to warn others, and report it to the Ghana Police Cybercrime Unit and your mobile money provider.
